Do you ever wonder if you brush your teeth right? Naturally, most people develop habits, but do you ever wonder if there is anything you could improve? In fact, there are many little things that many people don’t seem to know about tooth brushing.
For example, while you probably know most dentists recommend brushing at least twice a day, did you know that most dentists also recommend that you start brushing by putting your brush in a different area? You see, people tend to develop habits, meaning that you probably start brushing in the same place every time. This also means that many people miss the same spots consistently. In other words, if you start brushing in a different area, you’re more likely to clean our smile more thoroughly.
Similarly, did you know you won’t be able to brush properly without the right toothbrush? You should find a brush with softer bristles or you could unintentionally damage your gums or enamel. On a similar note, you should brush for two minutes at a time, but not longer. If you brush for longer than two minutes, you could irritate your gums. Also, please remember to brush in circular motions. Brushing from side to side can also damage your gums.
Finally, it is extremely important that you care for your toothbrush properly. You should replace your toothbrush at least once every four months, and your brush should be left out to air dry in an open space after each use.
